NJ TRENTON — The Trenton Landmarks Commission approved four historic district renovation projects at its February meeting. The approvals covered porch repairs at Berkeley Square, renovations and a white mechanical louvre at 380 Hamilton Avenue, a Bank of America property, roof replacement in Mill Hill, and restoration work at the historic Old Eagle Tavern. The Commission denied without prejudice an application for an illuminated channel-letter sign at 271 Hamilton Avenue, requesting historically appropriate redesign.
Chair Carol Rogers presided; the Commission approved the Mill Hill roof project despite noting the shingle material is generally inappropriate for historic districts because the work will not be visible from the street.
